Steinbach RCIP 2026: Requirements, Intake Dates & First-Come Rules
Steinbach doesn't score anyone. Each month's intake opens on the 1st and closes on the 15th — or after seven applications, whichever comes first, and it's usually the applications. Add the occupation caps (one recommendation per NOC code per month, two per year) and the strategy writes itself: a complete, error-free file submitted the moment the window opens, for an occupation that hasn't used up its annual quota.

How Steinbach selects candidates

No points, no draws, no cutoff. If you meet the federal requirements and your complete application lands early in the intake window, you are in the running. Speed and a complete file are everything.
- Up to 5 recommendations per intake period, first come first served
- Maximum 1 recommendation per NOC code each month, 2 per NOC per year
- Priority sectors: health, education and social services, sales and service, trades and transport, manufacturing, natural resources and agriculture
- 25 priority occupations — from pharmacists and civil engineers to aircraft mechanics, home support workers and roofers
