Every number on RCIP Points comes from an official source: IRCC for the federal rules, each community’s own RCIP website for its grid and intake rules, and Statistics Canada for occupation codes. Nothing is copied from other immigration blogs or forums. This page lists those sources, when they were last checked, and every significant correction.
How often we check
We aim to re-read all fourteen communities’ official RCIP pages, and the documents they link to (scoring grids, priority lists, intake notices, monthly statistics), every month, and sooner when we hear about a change. Each check is compared line by line against the previous one, and every change goes into the calculators, the community pages and a dated monthly update post. The date we last checked is shown on every community page and at the bottom of every page on the site.

Federal and reference sources
- IRCC: Rural Community Immigration Pilot for eligibility, work experience and TEER matching, language minimums, education, settlement funds (table updated July 29, 2025) and the RCIP work permit.
- Statistics Canada: NOC 2021 Version 1.0 for all 516 occupation codes, their TEER categories and about 28,000 job titles used by the job search and the NOC finder.
What the calculators can and can’t tell you
The calculators reproduce each community’s published grid exactly, including caps and entry scores. They can’t reproduce what a community decides case by case: document verification, interviews, employer caps that change mid-month, or how a reviewer reads your intent statement. A score here is an estimate, never a decision.
Update history
October 24, 2026: October re-check of all 14 communities
- Thunder Bay and Timmins closed for 2026; Peace Liard ran a second intake with 25 extra allocations; Claresholm went from 30 to 36 allocations.
- Added a job title search (about 28,000 official NOC titles) to the calculators and eligibility checker, and a NOC code finder.
- Added the published priority occupation lists for Steinbach, Altona/Rhineland and Moose Jaw.
Corrections:
- An example in the calculator listed cooks as TEER 4. Cooks (NOC 63200) are TEER 3. The TEER is now worked out from the NOC code everywhere.
- The international graduate exemption applied the 16-of-24-months residency rule to all programs. Master’s degrees of 2 years or less require living in the community for the whole program.
- North Bay lists NOC 94110 as “production line worker”; the official title for 94110 is chemical plant machine operators. Both are now shown.
September 27, 2026: September re-check of all 14 communities
- West Kootenay, Sault Ste. Marie and Peace Liard closed or filled for 2026; Timmins set a 79-point pool entry score; Pictou County published a new grid.
- Added intake status (open or closed) and latest selection scores to every community.
July 10, 2026: Launch: every 2026 scoring grid and intake policy read
- Built calculators from each points community’s official 2026 grid and the eligibility checker from IRCC’s criteria.
